Fleeting moments.
Convincing yourself you don’t care in the midst of convincing everyone else you don’t seems like a good idea right?
Turns out it doesn’t work like you thought it would, could, or should. There are fleeting moments of happiness, you replace your healthy habits with immediate gratifications. In fact, too many instances of immediate gratification. They’re only letting you escape for a short period of time and therefore you require more and more of them. Whether you realize it now or later, that weight you’ve been carrying is still there. It never left, you were just too caught up in these distractions to feel it. It will still rear it’s ugly head in the most inconvenient of hours. These are the lows you’d like to discuss with the person who knows you best, but unfortunately that person is exactly who you’re trying to shut yourself off from. Instead, you’ll buy something you shouldn’t have, stay out drinking too late, too frequently, spend all your time with the wrong women, and dance with the pretty girl at the bar who’s flirting with you. None of it will change the way you feel. Here’s to hoping you find something that does.
